Of course, we’d be crazy to think we can do this by ourselves. Luckily, we don’t have to! There is a whole community of individuals and organizations with the same goals, eager to help and support one another.
This brings us to our partnership with Special Olympics Slovakia.
Special Olympics Slovakia
Is part of the global Special Olympics organization, working to make sports accessible to athletes with intellectual disabilities. Since its establishment in 1968, the number of people with and without intellectual disabilities in the organization has been growing. Yet the needs of people with intellectual disabilities are still largely unmet. Every day, they strive to bridge this gap. Every day, they get a little closer.
The mission of Special Olympics Slovakia is to provide sports training & competitions for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. In doing so, they give them opportunities to “develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in the sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.”
Day of Young Athletes
We had the opportunity to work with Special Olympics Slovakia during the Day of Young Athletes in 2021. The kids absolutely amazed us with their athletic skills & joyful spirits.
